SYLPHE


Sylphes were a botanical, humanoid species. Their skin had green tones, and long flowers grew atop their heads. These flowers changed with their emotions, wilting with a bad mood. Their metabolism required high quantities of water, and an extended exposition to an arid climate could be lethal. They communicated with a crystalline language as well as pheromones. These pheromones were used to influence other species' during negotiations. They also displayed a form of powerful telepathy, which allowed relatives to communicate even at interstellar distance. It was noted to be similar to some Jedi abilities. Though botanical, Sylphes were able to interbreed with Humans, despite having a internal structure closer to vegetation than mammalian. A Human/Sylphe hybrid could be detected by an abnormal blood composition, and had a lifetime superior to a Human, closer to that of a Sylphe.

Living in homes made from vegetation, Sylphes were a sophisticated and instructed species. They cultivated refined arts; their martial arts were no exception. They developed a lethal "war dance" called Sholân Kha. They favored the mental over the technological, and their technological development was quite low. At the time of their first contact with other species, Sylphes were organized into clans, and solidarity was rare. On Sainte-Evanëflore, during the Galactic Civil War, the Sylphes were pacifists and refused to kill anyone if a better solution could be found.

PLANT: A plant creature possesses the following traits (unless otherwise noted in a creature’s entry). Low-light vision, Immunity to all mind-affecting effects (charms, compulsions, phantasms, patterns, and morale effects). Immunity to poison, sleep effects, paralysis, polymorph, and stunning. Not subject to critical hits, sneak attacks or electrical damage. Damage Reduction 5 vs piercing weapons. Plants breathe, drink, can eat, but do not sleep. Plants suffer double fire damage and cannot use medium or heavy armor.

STUNNING BEAUTY: As a standard action, a sylphe can stun an organic creature within 10m with his/her appearance and charming glance. The target creature must succeed on Fortitude save or be stunned for 2d6 rounds. A stunned creature drops everything held, can’t take actions, takes a -2 penalty to AC, and loses Dexterity bonus to AC (if any). Blinding Beauty's DC equals to Sylhpe's character level + Charisma Modifier + d20, and can be used only once every 5 rounds.

UNEARTHLY GRACE: A sylphe adds his/her Charisma modifier as a bonus on all his/her saving throws and gains Dodge Feat, each rank every 6 levels.

POLLEN of LIFE: Each time a sylphe makes a move action, it releases powder from their vegetation, healing organic ally creatures within 10m range. Each healed ally receives health points equal to Sylphe's character level + wisdom modifier. The pollen has a pleasant aroma, and some may even find it addictive.

BLOOMING CUDDLE: Sylphes are pacifists and rather seek to protect that harm. Handhsake, hugs, whispers in ear, touch, anything that can symbol a peace is very important to Sylphe. When Sylphe performs such on an ally, the ally will have vegetation float around them in form of leaves and flowers, granting them damage reduction against non fire damage. The damage reduction equals Sylphe's character level. If that ally receives damage that overcomes this damage reduction, the ally will release healing pollen that works exactly like pollen of life. The vegetation withers and falls off once the ally is no longer in danger, but it can be removed earlier if the Sylphe that performed blooming cuddle falls in combat. Sylhpe can perform Blooming Cuddle once every 10 levels, to maximum 3 allies at level 30.
